Why I'm Standing: Rob P. Williams, TUSC Candidate for Sketty Ward
20th April 2012The Trade Unionist and Socialist Coalition (TUSC) is standing four anti-cuts candidates in the Swansea council elections on May 3rd.
Rob P. Williams is one of the two TUSC candidates standing in Sketty Ward.
Rob is a prominent anti-cuts campaigner in Swansea and a member of the Socialist Party.
Rob said, "You can guarantee, any of the main parties that end up leading Swansea council will put forward a budget of massive cuts; their councillors will dutifully march into the chamber and vote that budget of cuts through. It won't make a blind bit of difference to the people of Swansea whether they do it with a grin on their faces or a tear in their eye. The result will be the same."
"I am standing for the Trade Unionist and Socialist coalition (TUSC) to give the people of Swansea a chance to start building an alternative to cuts and to the broken capitalist system."
As well as opposing all council cuts, Rob is committed to reversing privatisation of council services, reversing all cuts to EMA and halting the closure of Remploy.
