Pro-Choice Protest in Cardiff
6th October 2013
Campaigners gather to defend a woman's right to choose
The religious anti-abortion group 40 Days for Life have returned to Cardiff to intimidate women attending the abortion clinic near St. Mary Street, including blocking the entrance to the clinic.
But women and men from all over Cardiff have mobilised again to support Abortion Rights Cardiff and to defend the right of women to decide. Last year the group had tried to prevent women accessing this vitally needed service, and failed as people demonstrated against them and made it clear that women should not be intimidated by these bigots.
So on Saturday while the religious zealots prayed around the litter bins on St. Mary Street pro-choice activists sang "Keep on praying round the bin, you will never, never, never win" and "Pro-life, that’s a lie, you don’t care if women die" and made it clear that women will not be prevented from accessing the services they need.
