UK-Wide Protests Against ATOS

6th January 2014

Disabled people are organising protests to take place outside ATOS assessment centres across the UK on 19th February 2014.

ATOS are a company that the government use to assess disabled people in order to cut benefits. Disabled people and many groups including the British Medical Association believe the assessment processes should be scrapped because they are unfair and cause real harm to people.

The protests are supported by Disabled People Against Cuts, Black Triangle Campaign, National Union of Students (NUS) and NUS Disabled Students Campaign.

Swansea has a good record for ATOS protests as you can see in the photo below from 2012 outside the Swansea ATOS assessment centre.
